Stillness can feel unfamiliar, even uncomfortable, for many Christian women.
We are used to doing, fixing, responding, and filling space.
Yet biblical womanhood reminds us that intimacy with God is often cultivated not through words alone, but through quiet presence.
Lent is a sacred invitation to slow down and rediscover the beauty of simply being with God. “Be still, and know that I am God.” - Psalm 46:10
This knowing comes not from striving, but from surrender.
💖 1. Stillness Is an Act of Trust
Choosing stillness requires faith.
It asks us to believe that God is at work even when we are not actively doing something.
Biblical femininity teaches us that trust often looks like rest. Resting the mind, the body, and the soul in God’s care.
Stillness says:
God is sovereign
I don’t have to control everything
I can pause without falling behind
God meets me in quiet places
For the godly woman, stillness becomes a form of worship.
🌸 2. Creating Space to Listen, Not Just Speak
Prayer is often approached as a list of requests or words spoken to God.
But biblical womanhood invites us as Christian women into a deeper rhythm, one that includes listening.
During Lent, prayer can gently shift from constant speaking, to attentive listening.
Listening prayer may look like:
Sitting quietly with Scripture
Pausing after prayer instead of rushing on
Asking God simple questions and waiting
Allowing silence without filling it
God often speaks softly, and stillness makes space to hear Him.
🕊️ 3. Stillness That Shapes the Heart
Stillness is not empty. It's formative. Stillness is often forming something that you may not see on the surface.
As you practice quiet prayer, you may notice:
A calmer spirit
Heightened spiritual awareness
Greater peace and clarity
A softened, more receptive heart
“The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.” — Psalm 145:18
Biblical womanhood is shaped in these quiet places, where God gently forms us into women of faith, discernment, and peace.
💬 Reflection & Prayer
Reflection: What noise or busyness might be preventing you from experiencing stillness with God? Where can you create small pockets of quiet this week?
Prayer: Lord, teach me to be still before You. Quiet my racing thoughts and calm my restless heart. Help me trust You enough to pause and listen. Meet me in the silence and shape me into a godly woman who walks closely with You. In Jesus' name, Amen🌿
💕 Closing Note
Biblical womanhood is not hurried, it is rooted, attentive, and anchored in God’s presence.
As you embrace stillness this Lent, may you find deeper peace, clearer direction, and renewed intimacy with Christ.
