Lent is often misunderstood as a season of heaviness or religious obligation.
But for Christian women longing to live out biblical womanhood, Lent is a soft invitation, a time to return, realign, and renew our hearts before God.
Before God calls us to fast, sacrifice, or simplify, He calls us to come close.
Biblical femininity begins not with outward discipline, but with inward surrender.
“Create in me a clean heart, O God.” - Psalm 51:10
This is the prayer that prepares us for everything else.
💖 1. God Desires a Willing Heart, Not a Perfect One
Many godly women approach Lent wondering if they are “doing it right.” But Scripture reminds us that God is far more interested in our hearts than our performance.
Biblical womanhood invites us to come honestly, weary, distracted, imperfect. and allow God to do the cleansing work only He can do.
God is not asking for:
Flawless discipline
Rigid routines
Spiritual comparison
He is asking for:
Humility
Repentance
Openness
Trust
“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.” — Psalm 51:17
🌸 2. Preparing the Heart Before Practicing the Discipline
In biblical femininity, spiritual disciplines are not empty rituals, they are responses to love.
Before fasting begins…
Before habits change…
Before anything is “given up”…
God invites Christian women to pause and examine the heart.
Heart preparation may look like:
Confessing areas of spiritual dryness
Releasing distractions that have crept in
Letting go of resentment or bitterness
Asking God to realign desires
Creating space for quiet reflection
Biblical womanhood teaches us that transformation always begins within.
🕊️ 3. Renewal Is God’s Work, Our Role Is Surrender
One of the most freeing truths for a godly woman is this: renewal is not something we manufacture.
God renews.
God cleanses.
God restores.
Our role is simply to come willing and open.
“He restores my soul.” — Psalm 23:3
As Christian women embracing biblical femininity, we prepare our hearts not by striving, but by surrendering. Trusting God to gently do the refining work in His time.
💬 Reflection & Prayer
Reflection: What areas of your heart feel cluttered, weary, or distant from God? What might He be inviting you to surrender as you enter this Lenten season?
Prayer: Lord, I come before You with an open heart. Search me, renew me, and cleanse what no longer reflects You. Prepare my spirit for this season of drawing closer to You. Help me walk through Lent with humility, grace, and trust. Shape me into a godly woman whose heart is soft and responsive to You. In Jesus' name, Amen🌿
💕 Closing Note
Biblical womanhood begins in the quiet places of the heart.
As you prepare for Lent, may you experience God’s gentle renewal, not through pressure, but through His faithful love and mercy.
