Finding God in the Season You're In

As August begins to draw towards its close, you can almost feel the change coming.

The evenings begin to feel a little different.

Autumn content is everywhere.

We're thinking about warm meals, candles, jumpers, cosy routines, fresh starts and all the little things that make the coming season feel comforting.

And as an autumn lover myself, I completely understand the excitement.

But sometimes we can become so excited about the next season that we quietly stop living in the one we're actually in.

We start to tell ourselves:

"I'll feel more settled then."

"I'll get back into a routine then."

"I'll have more energy then."

"I'll start that habit then."

"I'll feel more like myself then."

But what if God wants to meet us before then?

What if there is grace for right now?

💖 1. You Don't Have to Wait for Life to Feel Perfect

As Christian women, we can fall into the habit of waiting for the "right" circumstances before we allow ourselves to feel peaceful.

We wait for the house to be tidy. The schedule to calm down. The weather to change. The children to settle. The next season to begin.

But peace was never meant to depend upon perfect circumstances.

Jesus remains Jesus when life feels chaotic.

God remains faithful when our routines fall apart.

And His presence isn't postponed until September.

Biblical womanhood isn't about creating a perfectly ordered life before we can experience God's goodness.

It's learning to walk with Him in the life we actually have.

That may mean finding Him in the heat of August.

In the messy kitchen. In the interrupted quiet time. In the ordinary Tuesday. In the season that wasn't quite what you expected. There is grace here, too.

🌸2. Perhaps God Is Growing Something in You Now

We often think growth happens when everything finally settles down. But sometimes God does His deepest work in seasons that feel inconvenient.

Perhaps this summer has taught you patience.

Maybe you've had to slow down.

Maybe you've discovered how much you need rest.

Maybe your plans have changed.

Maybe you've been reminded that you cannot control everything.

Maybe you've simply learned to depend on God a little more.

These things matter.

The season may not have looked particularly spiritual from the outside, but God can use ordinary circumstances to shape extraordinary things within us.

A godly woman isn't formed only during quiet mornings with a perfect Bible study routine. She's formed in the moments when she chooses faith over frustration. Grace over perfection. Trust over control. Contentment over comparison.

And sometimes, those lessons happen on the hottest, messiest, most ordinary days.

🕊️3. Let Yourself Enjoy What's Coming — Without Missing What's Here

I don't want to tell you to stop looking forward to autumn. You can light the autumn candles, save the cosy recipes, dream about crisp mornings, plan your autumn rhythms, enjoy being an autumn lover.

There is nothing wrong with delighting in what is coming, but perhaps we can do it differently.

Instead of thinking: "I can't wait for this season to be over."

We can say: "Lord, thank You for this season. And I'm excited for the one You're bringing next."

Both can be true.

You can be grateful for today and hopeful for tomorrow.

You can be tired of the heat and still notice the beauty around you.

You can desire change without despising where you are.

That is a beautiful kind of Christian contentment.

🌿4. What If Today Is Part of the Preparation?

Sometimes we want God to hurry us into the next thing.

But maybe the season you're in is preparing you for it.

The patience you're learning now.

The discipline you're developing now.

The things you're surrendering now.

The wisdom you're gaining now.

The deeper dependence on Christ you're discovering now.

Maybe these aren't interruptions to the story, maybe they are part of it.

As you continue embracing biblical womanhood in a modern world, you don't need to rush your becoming.

God is not asking you to arrive somewhere tomorrow.

He's inviting you to walk faithfully with Him today. And that is enough.

💬 Reflection & Prayer

Reflection: What are you currently waiting for or looking forward to? Could you ask God to show you one gift, lesson, or opportunity for faithfulness that exists in your life right now?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for the season I am in today. Forgive me for the times I've been so focused on what is coming that I've missed what You are doing right now. Help me to receive this season with open hands. Give me wisdom to prepare for what is ahead without rushing what You are doing in me today. Teach me to be a godly woman who trusts Your timing, embraces each season, and finds Your presence wherever You lead me. In Jesus' name, Amen🌿

💕 Closing Note

Biblical womanhood isn't about constantly becoming someone better, living a more perfect life, or finally reaching the season where everything feels easier.

It's about walking faithfully with Christ through every season.

So enjoy the anticipation of autumn. Look forward to the cosy season. Dream about what's coming. But don't forget to look around you, too. There is grace here, there is goodness here, and God is here.

Share this with a sister who is already longing for the next season and needs the reminder that God has something for her right where she is.
